Conference and Events Sales Manager
We are an independent luxury hotel brand seeking a Conference and Events Sales Manager due to an internal promotion to oversee 3 team members and manage our corporate and leisure customers with the split being 70/30. We have an excellent staff retention rate and can offer you a challenging and varied role to lead, motivate and manage the Events Team. To handle all enquiries and co-ordinate all events professionally, whilst maximising revenue and ensuring the overall smooth running of this key department within the Hotel.
Lead the Events Team to proactively convert all enquiries and ensure revenue from each booking is maximised.
Day to day management, organisation and motivation of Events Team.
Conduct show rounds for meetings, conference, private events and wedding bookings.
Coordinate key Event Bookings from enquiry stage through to handover to Operations Team.
Set rate strategy and ensure effective yielding of all M&E business.
Ensure Opera is being used effectively to manage chases and follow ups.
Ensure knowledge of main competitors is kept up to date and feedback to team.
Play a key part in the planning and hosting of Wedding Showcases, MICE Showcases and any other client events.
Support the Sales Team on any proactive sales events/sales blitz activity.
Support the Sales Team with attendance at regional/national exhibitions and events.
Identify any training needs within the team and address these accordingly.
Ensure function detail packs are prepared accurately, and communicated to all departments on a weekly basis.
Attend weekly operations meeting and communicate all function details, highlighting any potential concerns and VIP events.
Prepare revenue pack for weekly revenue meeting.
Attend weekly revenue meeting and provide insight into booking trends and status/potential of all enquiries and bookings.
Prepare HoD forecast on a weekly basis.
Prepare for and present at monthly business review meetings and HoD Meetings
Assist in the preparation of monthly sales and statistics report.
Maintain a clear understanding of the statistical and revenue reports.
Read and understand reports on a weekly basis to ensure a clear understanding of the financial performance against budget/last year and forecast.
To be successful as our Conference and Events Sales Manager you should have previous corporate and/or leisure meeting and events experience gained within a hospitality or corporate events environment. You must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage detailed client requirements whilst liaising with your colleagues to ensure the seamless delivery and success of the meetings and events.
