This is a cracking opportunity for an ambitious, emerging big data analyst to creatively make their mark in a progressive company at the forefront of maritime, aviation, government and enterprise communications operating in over 80 countries with more than 40 offices worldwide, thus a natural liking for high technology is essential.

This is an environment in which the role of big data analytics has recently taken off, which means there is huge scope to make a difference. Following in the footsteps of an impactful Data Analytics Manager, you will work closely with the internal Commercial Pricing team to provide intelligence/reports to enable data-driven decision-making, as follows:

  • apply data science methodologies to identify opportunities within an overall pricing portfolio
  • test theories put forth by the team in terms of pricing changes
  • support Pricing Managers aligned to individuals Business Units on analytical requirements for customer-specific pricing proposal impacts as well as broader market consequences
  • post-pricing implementation analysis to develop future pricing decisions

In time, utilising your centralised viewpoint, you will be able to support your Manager to delve deeper into predictive analysis and customer behaviours, something that will add true value to the business and Pricing Managers, such as a recent project developed to investigate customer churn to predict characteristics of customers sensitive to price changes.

  • Highly numerate with strong commercial awareness and thinking
  • Complex problem solving skills, particularly in relation to large data sets
  • Excellent and demonstrable analytical and modelling skills - experience of predictive analysis would be a distinct plus
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data and translate this into meaningful value-add end user analysis
  • Highly motivated self-starter, inquisitive and willing to ask questions, able to push boundaries
  • Working knowledge of analytical software:

o Excel: Moderate/advanced

o MS Office: Moderate

o SQL: Preferable

o Tableau: Preferable but not essential

o Alteryx: Preferable but not essential

o Other Analytics Tools: Preferable but not essential
