One of my major clients is looking for a project buyer to join their team in the Milton Keynes area. They are a manufacturing company so experience in this sector is essential. The role will involve managing supplier files and documentation, supplier performance reviews and purchasing of commodities and services for specific projects. The project buyer will need to have an understanding of function of the project team, quality, purchasing and materials planning functions. You will be reporting in to the head of purchasing and logistics.
The project buyer will need to make sure that tendering support and project implementation is completed within an agreed timeframe which ties in with the project production plan. You will need to make sure that the project budget is not exceeded and look to reduce costs where practical. You will be involved in the process from tendering through to implementation.
