Sponsorship/Commercial Director - B2B Events & Media Company
Our client has over 25 years experience of delivering high quality strategic events and B2B communications.They produce and manage over 60 industry leading B2B strategic conferences, training courses, lecture series and webinars every year, as well as providing insights through reports and surveys. Utilising their expertise and strong relationships with key experts, they create interactive events that deliver superb learning and networking experiences. Events take place across the UK and Europe.
They are currently looking for a Sponsorship/Commercial Director, responsible for direct line management of a team of Business Development Executives and Client Relationship Managers who are selling sponsorship across the full Conference & Marcomms portfolio. Although this is a sales management rather than a 'selling' role, you will fully support your team in building client relationships and will be instrumental in developing these to drive new product ideas and will work closely with internal stakeholders to get them to market. If appointed as Commercial Director, the successful candidate will also have line management responsibility for the Head of Marcomms; driving the team to meet meet targets and playing a key role in Marcomms product development.
We're looking for an exceptionally strong sales manager and commercial leader with excellent academics who is looking to lead and support a sales team and play a key strategic business and product development role. A strong understanding of content products and the content research process will be an advantage for this role; the ideal candidate would have a background in both content development and sales, but this is not essential. The sales environment is consultative, not aggressive. A background in the development and sales of content-based B2B products, including conferences, would be the ideal.
