Our client, one of the 31 colleges of the University, is a dynamic, welcoming and international community committed to developing the talents of all its undergraduate and postgraduate students. It also runs a thriving conference and catering business with an annual turnover of approximately £1.3m, hosting over 150 events a year, many of which are residential.

They are looking for a part-time (22.5 hours per week) Accounts Clerk to join their busy, friendly team.

Salary: £19,733 pa pro rata

The finance department consists of the Head of department plus six other team members. The department delivers services to both internal and external stakeholders in the areas of financial and management accounting, budgeting, taxation, treasury functions, funds accounting, students billing and finance, fellows billing, payroll and pensions, purchase ledger, sales ledger, catering accounts and accounting support to the Junior Members Association (JMA). The College operates as a group with the College as the main entity together with two other subsidiaries, one that deals with the conference activities and the other that deals with the laundry operations.

Key responsibilities will be maintaining the two sales ledgers for the College and the College Services, carrying out full credit control procedures, maintaining the accounting records for the Junior Members Association (JMA), carrying out various control accounts reconciliations, year-end procedures and other tasks for the department as required.

The College is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is a team player with good communication and organisational skills. The right individual will be able to demonstrate the correct level of experience in the key areas of responsibility as well as being technically competent and have a good general understanding of accounting. They will provide the necessary training in relation to their Finance software and all other areas of the role.
