Events and Website Assistant

The role:

My client, who are a membership organisation are looking for a savvy Events and Website Assistant to join their team on a temp to perm basis. To be successful in this role, you will confidently showcase your design and IT technical skills, particularly in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Acrobat, in the assistance of the company's website management, designing flyers and logos amongst any other requirements of role. With this, you will also have excellent admin and communications skills, and be able to work to tight deadlines effectively whilst providing efficiency of service. The successful candidate will have previously worked in an office environment and be accustomed to working independently as well as part of a team.

Duties may include:

  • manage the relationship with App developer and act as contact for all matters relating to App
  • manage the relationship with event registration system developer
  • source suitable venues for events
  • source event merchandise and corporate gifts
  • create and send mailshots publicising events
  • organise event sponsorship - packages, brochures, sales etc
  • book and liaise with conference organisers where necessary
  • liaise with venue/hired company on AV requirements
  • liaise with venue/hired company on venue design and dressing
  • organise materials, exhibition equipment and logistics for couriers
  • organise exhibition - floor plans, stand packages, contractor liaison
  • organise payments and chase non payments where necessary
  • attend events for on-site event management
  • undertake in house design work including leaflets, flyers, event programmes and other material
  • design exhibition maps for conferences
  • manage production of the design of the Network Fundamentals newsletter
  • liaise with external design companies for larger projects, getting quotes, assessing tenders, advising on best submissions.
  • manage various websites
  • act as first line support for staff on website matters
  • liaise with web developers on changes and escalate more serious issues

Software skills:

  • Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Acrobat.
  • Website CMS, Modx desirable but not essential.
