Brief Outline:

Project Manager - Lift Modernisation - Greater London. Humres Engineers specialises in the recruitment of qualified and experienced LIFT ENGINEERING personnel for some of the UK's leading Lift Engineering Companies. We have a number of exciting opportunities available across design, installation, service and management including this excellent opportunity for a PROJECT MANAGER with one of the leading companies in Greater London. The role is largely focused on Lift Modernisation Projects as well as some large new installations

About the Client:

Responsible for the delivery of large projects achieving the agreed objectives on time and within budget in a safe and controlled environment. Plan, monitor and coordinate all technical aspects throughout each phases of the project: sales, pretender, pre-construction, construction, commissioning, maintenance and service. My client is looking for an experienced Project Manager in and around London

About the Role:

* Creating a safe working environment for all of those who come into contact with our activities and equipment
* Targeting and delivering engineering excellence
* Achieve zero defects in our own work and that of our subcontractors
* Challenging the design to minimise waste, maximise value and reduce commercial risk
* Implementing agreed processes for the production, control and distribution of design information
* Ensuring regular progress reporting of the design, production, installation and commissioning
* Checking design information is thoroughly reviewed for buildability, safety and maintainability, completeness & technical suitability before use
* Managing contract variations and contractual terms and conditions
* Management of lift and escalator activities and documentation complying with Health & Safety legislation, company and industry safety standards
* Leadership and vision to promote and implement safe systems of work
* Review the contract specification for each project and coordinate with order processing and engineering
* Provide technical support to sales and engineering
* Regular attendance at meetings with customers
* Effective communication with senior site management, designers, consultants, architects and local authorities on all matters pertaining to the project
* Technical review & vetting of subcontract packages, materials and services
* Inspect and review off site activities and the manufacturing process and reporting on progress
* Management and delivery of Quality Assurance processes and compliance
* Track progress and manage resource planning and key activities
* Monthly financial reporting and forecasting of labour and cost budgeting

About the Candidate:

* Ability to chair and effectively steer large meetings
* Ability to manage a team and to work within a team framework
* Good communication skills - articulate and a good presenter
* Ability to swiftly appraise all types of information for completeness
* Reasoning and problem solving skills - with ability to think laterally
* Thorough knowledge of design and construction processes
* Management/Supervision, commercial, technical and installation background with ability to translate specification & construction issues into workable solutions
