Reporting into the Director of Communications, you will shape, design and deliver internal communications programmes to support the whole of the UK Retail business.
You will be expected to implement creative and engaging communications strategies and plans that support the organisations growth ambitions and dominant business priorities with the UK Retail division, including the communications around major change programmes.

A core member of the Central Communications team, your role will be to partner with the UK Retail business, advising key company stakeholders on best practice approaches and working with them and their teams to generate a regular and consistent flow of communications to educate, inform and engage the Retail population. This will include working collaboratively with the Head of Marketing for UK Retail to share and promote business wins and successes within the wider business.

On a day-to-day basis, communications and engagement tasks will include the development of leadership communications; management of UK Retail events and the support of central events where UK Retail has a presence; writing informative and engaging content for the UK Retail audience to promote divisional initiatives; and devising and delivering the communications strategy to support a new programme to develop the communications skills and capabilities of the regional UK Retail senior manager population.

Responsibilities:

-Work with senior managers and other key stakeholders to generate a regular flow of business communications
-Develop credibility with, and support local managers and other key contacts across a UK Retail operation
-Implement communications plans and develop content for all UK Retail specific internal communications
-Contribute to internal communications plans, using various media: written, video, intranet, PowerPoint, new/social, event management
-Work to develop shared internal communications channels such as the intranet to ensure it serves the needs of the UK Retail business
-Write informative and engaging print and on-line communications (announcements, letters, presentations, etc.) ensuring quality, tone, consistency, and alignment with business style, goals, objectives
-Coordinate various presentations and internal events

Profile:

-6 - 10 years relevant work experience in internal communications or employee engagement
-Proven experience in building strong working relationships with senior internal stakeholders
-Proven influencing and negotiating skills
-Ability to work well with management
-Clear and persuasive writing skills
-Strong editing and proofreading skills; attention to detail
-Ability to translate complex topics into audience-appropriate messaging
-Well organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects
-Self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative to meet deadlines
-Excellent team player
-Travel/ work unsociable hours as and when required
