Jark Ipswich are proud to be working with our client based on the outskirts of Ipswich. This family run business was established in 1988 and is growing rapidly.

Our client is currently looking for an Operations Manager/Fencing Supervisor to join their fantastic team. This is a complex role and it's very much about the right person to fit the team and business.

Ideally you will have a background and good understanding in fencing and highway operations management as this is the key part of the role. Experience and awareness in working on a construction site is also desirable for this position.

To be the successful candidate you will have excellent customer service skills. You will be able to read drawings and be IT literate. You will have extensive knowledge of Health & Safety and on-site regulations. You will have experience in programming and planning work and have great time management and multi-tasking skills. You will also work with the Contracts Manager on a daily basis, so it is very important that you have strong communication skills.

Duties and responsibilities:

•Allocate day labour and machinery when necessary for jobs involving either Guard Rail Installation or Fencing
•Managing up to 20 staff, so strong people management skills are essential
•Ensure the supply of materials meets both quantity & quality standards to fulfil the capabilities for each project
•Purchasing and stock taking
•Supervise & coordinate daily work activities for employees under direct supervision
•Liaise with key external stakeholders specific to a project
•Ensure all environmental measures are implemented to ensure compliance with legislative requirements
•Ensure that appropriate safety apparel and personal protective clothing is worn when on the worksite or operating a particular item of equipment
•Set a high standard and example for other staff to follow in respect of wearing appropriate safety apparel
•Keep staff informed of their obligations under the Work Health & Safety Act, 2012 (SA) and to report any accidents / incidents immediately

Our client provides a pool vehicle as the role can include travelling to sites across Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex, occasionally going to Buckinghamshire.

This is a temporary to permanent role leading to great career opportunities.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am - 5.30pm but some flexibility will be available.

Lunch 1 hour.

We are offering a three month temp - perm contract, £25k - £32k. salary negotiable depending on experience.
