Tripod Education are looking for SEN Teachers in Surrey and the surrounding area, to work with children and young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders, including Aspergers, Experience with supporting children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties, Communication Disorders, Sensory Needs, and challenging behaviour would be desirable . We currently are recruiting for an OFSTED graded Outstanding specialist ASD school who are looking to appoint a qualified teacher long term from January.

The role will require leading, delivering and coordinating lessons and curriculum to students that have significant communication and learning difficulties. You will need to be committed to ensuring pupils make good progress and encourage pupils to reach their potential through engaging and stimulating teaching.

Your main duties will include:

* Inspiring and engaging with children or young adults;
* Assessing individual learning needs and working on a group basis;
* Assessing and reporting on individual pupils' progress;
* Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers, education welfare officers, social workers and Healthcare professionals.

The ideal teacher would have:
* An appropriate education degree with UK qualified teacher status (QTS);
* Previous teaching experience (not necessarily in an SEN setting);
* A clear and adaptable approach to teaching;
* A calm and consistent manner;
* The ability to teach students with varying needs and backgrounds;
* ID documents and have a DBS check on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one.

Strong overseas trained and newly qualified teachers will also be considered. The ideal applicant will also live within Surrey (or will be happy to travel there). Subject specialism is unimportant but recent experience of successful teaching in UK mainstream schools is essential along with exemplary classroom practice including excellent interpersonal and organisational skills. Experience of working with physically disabled children and young people is highly desirable but not essential.
