Senior / Principal Planner: An ambitious dedicated Senior / Principal Planner is required for a highly-regarded Town Planning Consultancy with offices in the South and South West, established for 30+ years with a reputation for its integrity and professionalism. Based out of the Hook office the Senior / Principal Planner will serve and expand the established client base focused mainly on Greater London and the Home Counties.

This is a rare opportunity for a qualified planner (RTPI) seeking to start or further their career in the private sector, working closely with the experienced senior team in a vibrant consultancy working with an enviable and loyal client base across residential, retail, commercial, mixed-use and leisure sectors, throughout the entire planning process.
You will assist on all projects including: site appraisals, field research, preparing planning applications and planning appeals. Working within a busy and demanding environment, the ability to work flexibly within a team and think innovatively is essential.

Personal Specification:

For the Senior Planner role, the ideal candidate will hold a post graduate qualification in an RTPI accredited degree, and be a member of the RTPI, or working towards membership, with at least 3 years' relevant experience within local authority and/or consultancy.

Candidates for the Principal Planner role will be required to be a member of the RTPI with at least 6 years' relevant experience. Ideally the candidate will have a background in policy formulation or land promotion and development control.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment, so it is essential that you are confident, driven, and able to liaise with colleagues, clients, and Partners. Up-to-date knowledge of the planning system and planning regulations is essential, as are strong communication and IT skills. You will be commercially-minded, and have an excellent eye for detail.
