Infrastructure Analyst - 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer - Data Centre Engineer Birmingham - £30,000 plus excellent benefits A leading financial services company based in Birmingham seek a Infrastructure Analyst / 2nd - 3rd Line Support Engineer / Data Centre Engineer. You will need to be enthusiastic, eager to learn and looking for an opportunity with long term potential to grow and develop a career. Infrastructure Analyst - 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer - Data Centre Engineer with primary experience in VMware/Servers. Ideally somebody new to 3rd line looking to expand in a large corporate company, or somebody ready for the jump to 2nd line. They have to be willing to learn and very eager to make the role their own, there will be both internal and external training available. Effective running of the server Infrastructure and related technologies company wide, looking to enhance and develop the existing infrastructure to provide a proactive approach to support and the successful implementation of new systems and services. Primarily responsible for operational support of various infrastructure platforms. Responsibilities for the Infrastructure Analyst - 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer - Data Centre Engineer: • Monitoring and maintenance of the physical and virtual server infrastructure across the European Organisation. • Maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory Services across the region. • Maintenance of Enterprise Storage Solutions. • Responsibility for the maintenance of the Data Centres / Rooms. • Follow ITIL and Service Management Processes such as Incident, Problem and Change management processes. • Implementation of new projects, systems and services. Required Skills for the Infrastructure Analyst - 2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer - Data Centre Engineer role: • Highly proficient at supporting, installing and modifying all version of Microsoft Windows server up to Windows 2012 R2 and standard Microsoft applications. • Good experience of virtualisation technologies specifically VMware. • Extensive knowledge in Active Directory Services including DHCP, DNS, ADSS, GPOs. • Extensive knowledge and experience of working with and supporting PC’s/Laptops, networks and wide area communications across multiple sites. • Demonstrable experience of working for a large enterprise, familiarity with IT frameworks such as ITIL. • Knowledge of Dell/HP Enterprise Hardware. Desirable • Knowledge of Cisco Unified Computing Systems. • Knowledge of supporting SQL practices especially around connecting to databases and security. • Some exposure of Cisco switches and network technologies/protocols. • Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools such as SolarWinds. • Knowledge of backup software and technologies. • Knowledge of Azure, Office 365 and other cloud based systems. • Anti-Virus Management. • SCCM and server patch management.
