Quantity Surveyor - Basements Specialist preferred
Quantity Surveyor Graduate for Basements and Residential work upto £10m. Excellent opportunity to join growing contractor. Ideally 2-3 years’ experience working within a basements specialist. Structural Engineering background preferred. £50-70,000 for the right candidate.

Quantity Surveyor, with some relevant and practical Basements, RC and Groundworks experience for a new position in west London. This is a live requirement for an enthusiastic Trainee or graduate QS with RC sub and super-structural expertise also having a good Groundwork’s knowledge.
Requirements of the role for this Quantity Surveyor include being IT literate, fully versed in Excel and being able to work to tight and demanding deadlines. There will be pressure, with tight deadlines, so you must be able to work in that environment. You will need to be confident in meeting clients and their teams to discuss their requirements.
The Company is a medium sized Civils & Groundworks contractor, intent on growing the Basement side of their business. The current range of work includes demolition, ground remediation, enabling works, drainage, groundworks, RC sub and structural work, builders’ works and substantial temporary works.
- You will probably have had experience working as a Quantity Surveyor in working for a sub-contractor, with at least 1-2 years working in the Groundworks and RC frames sector.
- Substantial experience in one or more of the above disciplines is needed to fulfil the role.
Experience in RC structures in the Commercial and Residential sectors, substantial temporary works, demolition and Groundworks is all relevant. Conventional and top down expertise would both be useful; Design and Build contracts; with knowledge of underpinning, bulk excavations, drainage are all useful, as is deep basement construction and earth retention schemes.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be expected to be able to perform under tight deadlines, working with some advice and guidance.
Rewarded with a salary of £50,000 to £70,000, fully negotiable for the right person, you will find that your skills are recognised and appreciated. You will need to have a current driving licence. You must be legally permitted to live and work in the UK to be considered for this job.
