An experienced and enthusiastic Financial Controller is required to take responsibility for all accounting operations for a leading designer and supplier of premium hospitality and luxury goods display products to many of the world's finest hotel, retail and restaurant groups across Europe, North America, Middle East and Asia. This is a brand new position.

With sales distribution in over 50 countries, and warehousing in the UK, USA and Central Europe, the company is fast growing with a pipeline of truly innovative quality products. The Financial Controller will lead the function and the team of two on a day to day basis, reporting to the part-time Finance Director on a weekly basis, and day-to-day to the Managing Director.

Principal Accountabilities:

*Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
*Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
*Maintain accounting ledgers for the UK company, UK Limited Liability Partnership and USA subsidiary
*Managing two direct reports and the liaison with the USA part-time FD support.

Transactions

*Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
*Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
*Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
*Process payroll in a timely manner (UK, LLP and USA)
*Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed
*Ensure that monthly balance sheet reconciliations are completed
*Process journal exports for sales, purchases and inventory from the ERP in the UK
*Maintain the chart of accounts
*Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
* Maintain an orderly accounting filing system

Reporting

*Issue timely monthly management accounts
*Prepare content for monthly senior leadership team meeting
*Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
*Coordinate the preparation of the annual financial statements for all companies
*Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of the company
*Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
*Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
*Provide a system of monthly departmental cost analysis for HOD discussion
*Provide financial analyses as needed, eg capex plans, pricing and contract negotiations

Compliance

*VAT returns for UK company and LLP
*USA sales tax returns
*USA accounts and annual tax filings
*Limited company and LLP statutory accounts filings

Desired Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration,
*Suitable Accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent business experience
*10+ years of progressively responsible experience in a major company
