Our client a very busy garden centre restaurant in Farnham, Surrey is currently looking for a Restaurant Supervisor for their on-site Restaurant.

The Front of House Management team is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the restaurant and enhancing visitor experience by providing an informed and courteous point of contact, ensuring customer needs is met.

Purpose of the role:

Working as part of a strong Front of House Manager's team you will support and work with other managers as well as supervising General Assistants whilst on duty and will provide a welcoming and efficient service to all Visitors to the Restaurant.

Duties and Responsibilities:

*To be responsible for the safe keeping of individual floats and keys, and reconciling Takings at the end of the shift.
*To be responsible for correctly undertaking all sales transactions using the company Epos system and take responsibility for the handling of customer refunds and transaction voids.
*To notify the Duty Manager immediately of any visitor complaint regarding services or facilities.
*To ensure compliance with all health & Safety and food management systems whilst on duty.
*To ensure a clear line of communication is kept with the kitchen team.
*To ensure preparation for the following shift is carried out and that the restaurant is kept clean and tidy at all times.
*To be a proactive member of the team.
*To receive and sign for deliveries, ensuring their distribution to departments as required and as quickly as possible.
*To attend and contribute to training or meetings as required.

Person Specification:

-Minimum of 2 years management/Supervisory experience working in a busy Restaurant/catering Operation with clear and effective written, verbal and IT communication skills.
-A proven ability to handle demanding and difficult situations with the public, in a calm and confident manner.
-Attention to detail and the ability to multi task in a pressured environment without compromising on quality.
-Able to adapt to a diverse and constantly changing range of customers, with a flexible attitude and willingness to learn.
-A working knowledge of Microsoft Office software including Outlook, Word and Excel
-Previous cash handling/till reconciliation experience.
-Experience of working with a diverse large team.

This Supervisors post is a very hands' on operational supervisory role and applicants need to be very customer focused with an eye for detail and to ensure a smooth service at all times. You will need to be organised and a strong team leader, with the ability to motivate and organise a large team, the crew runs in shifts of up to 20 team members at a time.
As the Restaurant Supervisor you will be required to work 40 hours per week 5/7 days, day times, straight shifts, weekends on a rota basis. In return the company offers a very competitive salary and excellent working environment.
