Our Client is a world-class, renowned Global Energy Trading business who trade various products including Oil & Gas.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to work as part of a team, ensuring crucial deadlines are met whilst delivering high standards always.

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a competent level of knowledge around the clearing process for oil and gas contracts and understand the pricing and settlement process associated with such contracts.

The successful candidate will have current work based experience and knowledge with working with Exchange Cleared Oil and Gas contracts, and OTC confirmation would be desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reconciliation of the Company’s daily Cleared open positon with the Exchange
  • Reconciliation of the Company’s daily margin call with the Clearing House
  • Independently query, challenge and resolve reconciliation discrepancies with the Clearing House
  • Counterparty confirmation for OTC trades,
  • Drafting OTC paper Confirmations compliant with ISDA Definitions.
  • Checking incoming OTC paper and electronic Confirmations
  • Chasing outstanding, and inbound, OTC paper Confirmations.
  • Invoicing and agreeing Settlements for OTC transactions.
  • Perform Portfolio reconciliation as required by EMIR.
  • Processing brokerage invoices, reconciling to statements and settling invoices.
  • Perform / validate market ad hoc operations - system static data amendments.
  • Reviewing systems and controls and independently driving projects to further better them
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all areas of the business, particularly with Front Office, Compliance, Credit and Risk Managers
  • General administrative duties required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Educated to minimum Degree level (or equivalent)
  • Must be familiar with either the 2005 ISDA Commodity Definitions or alternatively the 1993/2001 ISDA Commodity Derivatives Definitions, in respect of drafting structured and bespoke ISDA Commodity Confirmations
  • Previous experience in the back-middle office operations roles
  • Supported Cleared and OTC business at an Exchange, Bank or similar Oil Market Participant
  • Working towards a recognised Accountancy qualification would be also be advantageous
