Graduate Management Accountant - Letchworth - Permanent - £25,000 - £30,000 + study

About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to become part of a finance team providing financial support to a software business which is part of the Digital & Software Solutions (DSS) division within Capita plc. The business was acquired during 2014 and consists of 2 trading companies. Head office is located in Letchworth with satellite offices in Belfast, Dublin and Edinburgh

Whilst the role is based in Letchworth it will require occasional travel (2-3 times per year) to Belfast and Dublin where other members of the finance team are located.

Key Responsibilities:

The role reports to the Financial Controller who in turn reports to the Finance Director (the total finance team consists of a headcount of 5).

The role is required to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Invoicing AMT's clients (typically 40 - 45 invoices per month) and maintenance of control systems including various portals - 30% of time

  • Calculating commission payments to Account Managers and ad hoc payments to other staff - 5% of time

  • Month end journals including accruals and cross journals to other Group & Capita companies

  • Ad hoc items:

    • R&D Tax Credit calculation and gaining sign off with auditors

    • Bid Modelling as requested by Account Managers

    • TimeSheet Administration and Reporting

    • Cost controls including Marketing Budget monitoring

    • Assisting Capita Accounts Receivable with cash collection

    • Miscellaneous business support for Financial Controller & various departments

    • Providing holiday cover to Belfast admin support team regarding Timesheets and Purchasing

      Essential

  • Graduate with good academic background

  • Experience of financial management and control

  • Good communicator (oral & written) with a proven ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial teams

  • Meeting deadlines

  • Team player

  • Strong Excel skills

  • Proactive and a self starter
