The Role:

There's not much your job won't cover and no two days will ever be the same. It is an extremely varied role which would suit a quick learner who is adaptable, diligent and hardworking. Above all you must be keen to develop a range of new technical and business skills.

Within this role you will be exposed to a wide range of server and networking technologies (Cisco, Linux, MySQL, VMware to name a few) which are key to running and supporting our core products and services. In addition to this you will also be required to support a number of customer server/desktop environments therefore server skills (VMware, Microsoft, Terminal Services) and Windows desktop knowledge will also be needed.

You will be predominantly office based, working within a varied and challenging technical environment and will provide support to our customers across a wide range of technologies. You will also be required to design, plan, manage and perform installations and upgrades both remotely and in person on client sites and in various data centres.

As such, we are looking for great communicators who have the ability to think on their feet, own, troubleshoot and solve issues efficiently and effectively. Clear communication skills and a professional telephone manner are essential as well as impeccable customer service skills. Salary 20 - 27k dependant on experience

Educated to degree level or equivalent in computer/science related discipline


HND / 3+ A Levels / Advanced Diploma / Baccalaureate / BTEC Lv3 with 12 months work experience

Essential Skills:

Networking - TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, VLAN, Switching, FTP, SSH

Awareness of:


Linux - Command line/Shell, File System/Structure, Architecture

Virtualization and containerisation (e.g., VMware, Virtualbox, Hyper-V)

Desirable Skills:

WAN Technologies (Routing Knowledge, xDSL, MPLS, Ethernet)

Networking (OpenVPN, VPN, Packet Sniffing, Wireshark, iptables, firewalld)

Cisco - configuration, support and monitoring (IOS, switches, routers, ASA)

Windows (Server, AD, Exchange, Office 365, IIS, RDP, Desktops)

Databases (MySQL, Elasticsearch, Postgres)

Server (Postfix, VMWare)

Scripting (PHP, LAMP, Bash Scripting)

Automation software (Puppet, cfengine, Chef)

Additional Requirements:

The candidate must have a full driving license, and ideally have access to their own vehicle as some travel will be required.
