Job Title: Assistant Programme Developer
Location: Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands
Salary: Dependent on experience
Employment Status: Permanent, full-time

Main Purpose of Role:

With guidance from the Programme Managers, you will work with programme development colleagues in researching, developing and overseeing the implementation of new professional qualifications as well as being responsible for the ongoing maintenance, review and development of current programmes in line with CLT International`s strategic plan.

The role is varied and encompasses project management, academic, commercial and relationship management elements.


  • Assisting in the research, design, development and launch of new qualifications
  • Identifying and recruiting external authors as necessary for the development of new qualifications and managing these relationships
  • Regularly reviewing syllabus content, maintaining course materials, assisting with the setting of assignments and examinations as well as reviewing delegate feedback
  • Active use and management of the online learning platform (Moodle)
  • Commissioning and reviewing course materials, where necessary, including negotiating fees with authors
  • Establishing and cultivating meaningful relationships with employers/clients, delegates and tutors
  • Assisting in the preparation or checking of complex correspondence or documentation
  • Dealing with specific technical delegate enquiries and queries
  • Preparing and presenting clearly reports/analytical information for internal and external use
  • Contributing to preparing budgets and project plans for new and existing qualifications, including undertaking market needs analysis, advising on target enrolment numbers, projecting income and expenditure
  • Work with marketing colleagues to set marketing plans and assist with the writing of and proofing of copy marketing materials, ensuring that programme websites are up to date
  • Monitor performance of qualifications against budget and making recommendations for future improvements where necessary

Skills and Experience Required:


  • 2:1 Law Degree or equivalent qualification
  • At least one year`s experience of working in an office environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail in production of documentation
  • Proactive, persistent and organised approach
  • Highly organised with the ability to deal with conflicting priorities
  • A willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Excellent situational judgement (be able to evaluate situations, justify and defend correctness, give reasons for views and provide shrewd judgement)
  • Relationship building and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, authors, examiners and third parties
  • Ability to work well in a team as well as independently


  • Experience of working in a training / academic environment
  • Experience of using and maintaining an online learning platform
  • Commercial acumen, and familiarity with preparing and working with budgets
