Salary: £25,000 per annum
Permanent: Full Time
Working a 40 hour week, Monday to Friday. Please note that this is a 52 week residential school and therefore holidays have to be taken throughout the year.
The Cambian Group, the UK’s largest provider of specialist services in education, mental health rehabilitation and learning disabilities, is looking for an experienced Domestic Bursar.
Hill House School is a 52 week residential special school providing quality care and education for young people between the ages of 11 and 19 whose learning difficulties are associated with autistic spectrum disorders.
This post carries the overall responsibility for the management of the day to day processing of site finance and oversight of domestic, catering and household services provided by our establishment.
The role requires the use of initiative and the ability to directly manage and support the team of core staff to ensure a safe, healthy, clean and comfortable living environment for students and staff. You will manage all issues relating to general household practices and associated services related to welfare of the students. The role includes responsibility for managing delegated budgets and resources. It also involves contributing to development plans aimed at bringing about continual improvement in these areas.
Successful candidates will have to meet the person specification in order to be offered this post. 1 To act as a senior professional in the core team and manage the whole staff and all resources available in a manner that delivers an efficient and effective core service.
2 To promote and facilitate the normal development of the students, their equality, diversity and rights at all times in accordance with statutory requirements and Cambian Children’s Services Policy Procedures.
3 To share with the leadership team, evaluating the risk of, and protecting the students from, threats to their health, welfare and normal development, both from inside and outside the establishment and to follow strictly the Cambian Children’s Services Child/Adult Protection Policy and Procedures.
4 To ensure that all parts of the school environment are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, sensitive to the needs of the students being looked after.
5 To gear the running of the core services (catering and domestic to meet the expressed needs of the individual students as necessary, using the school's environment as a means of support and social learning for the young people.
6 To provide, and ensure from core staff, high professional standards of communication with, about and around students.
7 To actively develop and maintain good working relationships with:
- School staff and students
- Inspectors and other outside agencies and visitors
- Parents and other family members
- Cambian Group Managers and Directors
