Commercial Manager - Head of commercial, Executive commercial manager

Bristol - commutable from Swindon, Weston, Gloucester, Cheltenham and Cardiff

£58,000 - £62,000 + Benefits

Reporting into the Head of Commercial you will be responsible for:

  • To provide commercial leadership, support and guidance to the business regarding pricing, terms and conditions and general commercial strategy
  • To lead commercial discussions and negotiations with customers and government bodies and support the Supply Chain function in strategic procurement activities
  • Oversight of commercial activities in multiple locations
  • Lead the business's response to the Government's Single Source Contracting Regulations in relation to a number of current and future single source contracts
  • Provide a key pro-active service supporting the Head of Commercial, the Programmes teams and other members of the Babcock senior management team as required
  • Be able to deputise for the Head of Commercial
  • To challenge and support Project Managers with respect to pricing, contract management, project controls, variations/amendments, risk and cost management, claims and disputes, progress and cost forecasting and management
  • Able to review and challenge the assurance of project reports and associated financial statements
  • To lead a small operational commercial team, undertake the setting of clear objectives, review performance and provide feedback and guidance
  • To ensure financial and resource forecasts are properly constructed and achieved
  • To ensure that Group policies and procedures are followed consistently across the business and improved where necessary
  • Lead commercial governance activities including trade controls compliance
  • Lead the approvals process through the business in line with the necessary delegations of authority
  • Travel to other location will be required
