Building Maintenance Assistant Manager 

Our client is one of the largest food manufacturers in Europe. The company is still family run and has a great culture and history. They have a 160,000 sq ft technologically advanced production facility which they use to service the UK market in order to continue the strong growth of the company. 

Position: Building Maintenance Manager 
Location: Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire 
Job Type: Permanent 
Salary: £38,000 per annum 
Benefits: Annual discretionary bonus - depending on company / team / individual performance 
20 days holiday + bank holidays (holiday entitlement increases with years of service), pension scheme, sickness scheme 

About the role: 

This is a great opportunity to join a category leading brand at an exciting stage in the history of the business. Due to the fast expansion of the business, we are looking for professionals to join our team to fulfil and grow into their roles. 

They are looking for individuals who can demonstrate understanding of complex, fast moving, clean environments, whilst having a keen eye for detail and experience of building maintenance techniques. The major tasks involved in this job role are: 

- Developing PPM schedules for the facilities and organising reactive maintenance for the building 
- Providing some hands on maintenance and breakdown cover when required 
- Ensuring daily and weekly work schedules are prepared and then completed efficiently 
- Achieve site Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with respect to equipment performance, reliability and breakdown, maintenance completion and, where applicable, devolved budgetary performance 
- Developing standards and specifications for quotations 
- Planning and organising contractors working on site 
- Developing the team’s skill level by organising and involving operators or skilled maintenance staff 
- Promote and support the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement and demonstrating the company values and behaviours 
- 50% on site and 50% office based 

About you: 

- A background working as a recognised engineer in one of the necessary trades to maintain an industrial building in good condition 
- Experience in a construction trade (plumbing, masonry, heating systems) 
- Building maintenance experience within a manufacturing industry - preferably FMCG production 
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety 
- Knowledge of CAD software (Autocad) 
- A strong track record in driving projects; able to manage small modification or extension projects 
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills, comfortable dealing with colleagues at all levels across a range of functions 
- Experienced working in a multicultural environment, communicating between different departments
