IT Architect - to achieve its strategic and tactical objectives for the Back Office and BI & Analytics portfolios ('the portfolio' for simplicity) effectively and efficiently, through execution, collaboration, and leadership of enterprise IT and solution architecture activities covering the portfolios' scopes

Specifically, to:

  • Define and document the strategy, target and transition architectures, and the 3-to-5 year roadmap for changes to the portfolio services and systems
  • Produce defined and ad-hoc artefacts and deliverables for the benefit of the portfolio and the enterprise IT architecture as required, including contribution to enterprise models
  • Work to align tactical and regional change within the portfolio with the portfolio scope, strategy and target; and to align the scope, strategy and target for the portfolio with the Enterprise IT architecture

IT Architect Key Skills:

  • Significant experience (5+ years) working in IT architecture roles
  • Evidence of success in managing stakeholders at Executive Board level
  • Experience in some or all of finance, BI/Analytics domains
IT Architect Key Responsibilities:

  • Joint leadership of the portfolio by means of close, effective collaboration with the Portfolio Lead and the Portfolio Hub Lead.
  • Build and share deep knowledge of the portfolio's systems and services to inform decision-making both within the defined formal architecture framework and informally.
  • Produce, through active engagement with relevant stakeholders, artefacts and deliverables defining the strategy for the portfolio, responding particularly to business context and strategy
  • Produce by the same means the target and 3-to-5 year roadmap to achieve that target for the systems and services in scope of the portfolio, taking account of and documenting relevant motivational elements, feasibility, risks, and integration concerns. Stakeholders will include Group and regional business leaders, Group and regional IT directors, and others as appropriate.
  • Lead the definition, production and maintenance of (or as appropriate define, produce and maintain directly) models, artefacts and views on the business, data, applications, and infrastructure relevant to the portfolio. The Portfolio Architect will collaborate with other Portfolio Architects, with the regional IT teams, and with the portfolio Hub team.
  • From time to time as agreed, lead or conduct assessments of the current state of the portfolio, or of a domain within the portfolio, identifying risks, issues and opportunities whilst doing so.
  • As agreed, develop options and recommendations related to change within the portfolio, to inform decision-making, including active participation in RFI/RFP processes
  • Assess requests for both tactical and strategic change to the systems and services in scope for the portfolio, determining their impact and therefore the appropriate delivery approach, as well as their strategic alignment, risks, issues or opportunities arising as a result.
