Leading engineering & technology busine ss is expanding and growing new business areas. I am seeking a number of Project Engineers with proven experience of Electrical & Electronic Systems Validation and Test, ideally this will be gained within a powertrain / engine environment.
Project Engineer for delivery of electrical and electronic control system integration. Required to define on-vehicle electrical architectures, integration of communication networks and electrical distribution systems. Specific focus on the management of Electrical and control Attributes. You will provide leadership and technical expertise in your area.
Area of Responsibility:
•Perform the development, delivery and validation of engine control systems including tasks of: osystem design, ocomponent selection, oElectronic control module Input and output (I/O) definition and pinouts, oCoordination of system test plansoInvolvement in systems FMEA’s•Perform the above tasks on New technology (NTI) developments and New Product Introduction (NPI) development.•Work with process partner teams to gather, develop and document control system requirements •Coordinate individual workflow of developments based on the relative priorities of customer’s needs.•Participate in system FMEAs and related validation activity•Monitor legacy system issues and lead the timely resolution of them. •Adapt and develop system development processes
Knowledge / Experience:
•This role would be an ideal next step for a candidate on an engineering career path who has already gained experience in a Electronic systems technical role.
Ideal proven ability:
•Degree in Electronics/Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Software or Automotive Engineering.•Able to anticipate, translate and develop customer requirements into tangible feature developments•Understanding of control system elements (sensors, actuators, controllers)•Understanding of engine control related aspects of engine subsystems ( eg fuel, air system, after treatment)•Able to actively participate in system FMEAs and related validation activities.•Ability to build relationships and influence customers •Experience of electronic control system development and the related New Product Introduction processes
•Experience of appropriate industry certification requirements and process, particularly related to control systems•Experience of working directly with development partners•Experience of communication standards including J1939 datalinks•Familiarity with dSPACE HiL testers or equivalent•Familiarity with Systems Engineering requirements management tools
