Events marketing volunteer

Approx 1 – 2 days per week

Responsible to the Marketing and Communications Manager

Frequent liaison with the Events Manager

Purpose of the role:  To help the Museum achieve around 75% seat sales for events

Responsibilities include:

  • To produce posters and flyers for all forthcoming Museum events using the Holburne Museums template
  • To ensure all posters and flyers are displayed at the correct moment to maximise sales
  • To create and regularly update a local distribution list for all event materials and ensure that all sites are topped up with appropriate materials
  • To produce programmes for all lunchtime recitals using information from the Events Manager, within a 5 day turnaround timescale
  • Produce the weekly at a glance calendar for the Museum Visitor Maps
  • Produce a weekly What’s On This Week poster for Information Desk staff and poster stand
  • To update The Holburne Museum’s website and Facebook page with Event and news Information and other organisations websites, as researched
  • To ensure that appropriate promotional materials and mailing list subscribe sheets are available at all Holburne events
  • To update the Welcome Display on a regular basis
  • To be present at Holburne Museum Events where possible to support the Event team and to undertake data collection and audience surveys

Person Specification

  • Skill in clear copy writing and attractive design and layout
  • Ability to turn posters/flyers around quickly to meet deadlines
  • An interest in events and making income for the Museum
  • An understanding of good customer service
  • A good level of computer literacy
  • Team worker
  • An enthusiasm for the arts
