Recognised college based in beautiful, historic grounds in the outskirts of Birmingham is looking to recruit an experienced Information Systems Manager due to an exciting period of growth and development. This role is a key part of the college's development strategy. The successful candidate will be required to work across all areas to deliver improvements on an ongoing basis and will be responsible for the continued effective operation of the Information Systems.

Key responsibilities:
*Ensuring that data supports the need for accurate and timely information
*Constantly assessing systems for effective integration and improvement
*Manage the MIS function including setting of priorities, allocation of resources and production of statutory returns.
*Lead on admin IT systems in response to changing business requirements
*Proactively work to assist staff in understanding information and its significance to effective planning and monitoring of performance
*To assist in development and integration of new and existing systems, processes and procedures
*Reporting on and forecasting for college performance against all targets
*Ensure MIS function meets all internal and external requirements including those of funding agencies including student loans and audit regimes
*Understand and keep up to date with Skills Funding Agency's funding and learner eligibility guidance, providing appropriate advice to staff and managers on all aspects of funding
*Manage College MIS system including provision of training to develop staff
*Ensure of MIS procedures are documented and available for audit and inspection
*Act as College's Data Protection and Freedom of Information Officer

Key skills & experience:
*Experience of making data returns in a modern contracting framework
*Thorough appreciation of the value of data in this context
*Experience of working with SQL server databases and using SQL
*Experience of proactive identification and delivery of improvements
*High level IT skills including databases, Word and Excel
*Capacity to understand user requirements and develop systems to meet their needs
*Capacity to understand systems and business processes within the organisation
*An awareness and commitment to equality and diversity
*Experience dealing with student data or working in an education setting
*Any of the following qualification would be advantageous but not essential: MCSE Business Intelligence, MTA in SQL Database Fundamentals
