Change and Configuration Manager - £42,000- London

The company
A leading educational institution is seeking an Change and Configuration Manager to join their team in the heart of London. Responsible for providing advice on and developing systems to manage the ICT Change Management and Configuration Management functions within the organisation including the implementation of ITIL best practice in the day to day support of infrastructure changes.

The role
Your role will be to maintain a comprehensive Service Desk Information System (Service Desk) and Configuration Management System (CMS) for all configuration items. Develop effective working relationships with the Infrastructure, Applications, Procurement, Work Place and Service Desk teams and provide them with advice, guidance and support that will enable them to achieve and maintain the highest levels of ITIL best practices.

*To provide analysis of information from the ICT Service Desk and CMS.

*Communication of information analysis to senior management, external customers or third parties through reports or presentations at meetings as required.

*Audit the quality of data entered into the ICT Service Desk and CMS by ICT staff to ensure that a high standard of data accuracy is maintained.

*Maintain and manage the structure and overall integrity of the Service Desk and Configuration Management Systems. Define the scope of the information that is to be recorded and develop the system in accordance with the ICT Services Management Team and in line with ITIL standards.

*Administer and update the CMDB and Change database ensuring accuracy and consistency of the data within it.

*Analyse & interpret the Service Desk data to report on incident & trend analysis to facilitate the pro-active problem management strategies and identify the user's requirements and training needs.

*Manage the full lifecycle of all ICT assets (request fulfilment, procurement, security tagging, recording in the CMDB, deployment, retiring and disposal).

*Responsible for the control & security of ICT assets held in stock.

*To provide training and supervision to ICT staff in the correct use of the ICT Service Desk and CMS.

*To deputise for the Service Development Manager where needed

*To ensure that high quality documentation is produced to support the ICT Service Desk, CMS, Change, Release and Configuration Management processes their support procedures.

*Educated to degree level or equivalent.
*ITIL V3 Foundation Certificate required, intermediate level or equivalent experience in ITIL V2 or V3 preferred.
*Experience of developing ICT Configuration Management Systems.
*Good experience of ICT service management process development, implementation, automation and documentation.
*Experience of using Service Management Tools, and designing/implementing tool changes, in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Service Management processes.
*Strong customer service, analytical and problem solving skills.
*Good written and verbal communications skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of both internal and external stakeholders.
*Good organisational skills and an ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team.
*Good knowledge of MS Office and MS Visio applications.
*Proven ability to maintain accurate, detailed, and relevant records of achievement.
