We are looking for a Graduate Software Engineer with scripting experience (e.g. Python, Perl, Bash or TCL) and project experience of programming for Linux to work within a Software Quality Assurance (SQA) team focusing on test automation of the latest cloud based and media products.

This Graduate Software Engineer would ideally start as soon as possible and would start on a salary of £20k - £25k (which will grow as you move quickly through the ranks). The previous graduate hired for this team has progressed very quickly (under a year) within the team, so this is a great opportunity for someone to come in and follow suit. You would get your teeth into exciting technical challenges, working with dynamic Linux-based software development teams, utilising Python and other scripting languages to make sure code is as robust and reusable as possible.

This would be perfect for a Graduate Software Engineer looking for a role full of technical challenges, within a fast-paced R&D team, working with Python and Linux, but also for cross platform products (Android, iOS, Windows).

Graduate Software Engineer -Main accountabilities:
  • Functional and non-functional system testing for Set Top Box, Media Centre and Cloud Video Services (including on end user iOS and Android devices)
  • Creation and maintenance of test cases/procedures for all new features according to business and customer requirements
  • Creation of test data and software to facilitate improved testing with a focus on automation
  • Manual execution of tests, recording of results, investigation and logging of faults
  • Review of project documentation – software specifications, schedules and test plans
  • Work with the test lead, the rest of the test team and the project manager to ensure deadlines are met
  • Identify and convert areas of test for automation
Graduate Software Engineer -Requirements:
  • At least a 2.1 in an engineering focused degree, e.g. Computer Science, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Maths, Physics etc.
  • Demonstrable programming experience from university or hobby projects, working under Linux ideally involving some scripting (e.g. Python, Perl, Bash or TCL).
