Job; System & Network Administrator – London W4

This company provides a full range of services for broadcasters, production companies and media owners to manage, deliver and monetize content. They are after a System and Network Administrator to join their team.

This role is a cross-role between System Administration and Network Design/Management; 

  • 60% managing an existing infrastructure, 
  • 30% developing/improving/designing,
  • 10% involved in helping project managers to design custom solutions for customers, interfacing with management and vendors to develop and implement new networking solutions, designing and managing roll-outs of critical network infrastructures to support products and services on both strategic (long term) and tactical (immediate term) levels,
You will perform analytical/technical/cost analysis and development work in planning, design, installation and on-going administration and management of their networks.

Key skills and attitudes required;

  • In-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN/WLAN support and engineering design for voice, data, wireless and video networks at Access, Aggregation, and Core network locations
  • TCP/IP data networks using standards and technologies including but not limited to: BGP, OSPF, BGP4, STP, RSTP, 802.1q, 802.1ah, 802.1x, 802.1aq
  • Experience with routing hardware, software, protocols etc
  • Knowledge of structured cabling systems, network facilities, electrical, UPS, etc
  • Knowledge of software/protocols used in service-provider environments (MySQL, PostgreSQL, replication and clustering, LAMP, Puppet, Nagios, Zabbix, GIT, SVN, Bash Scripting, Exchange, ADS, HTTP, SNMP, SMTP, Radius, LDAP)
  • IPTV and Video Streaming, MPEG-TS Multicast routing, PIM IGMP
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux (especially CentOS, RedHat, Ubuntu) and Windows in server environments
  • Router, Switch and IP configuration experience
  • Excellent project, planning, change and time management capabilities
Desirable skills;

  • Cisco CCNP/CCDP level experience or equivalent
  • Extreme Networks XOS configuration and troubleshooting
