Oracle DBA with PL/SQL experience - Music, Film & TV Industry - London

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 plus discretionary Bonus and benefits

Location: London, near Euston and King's Cross

Do you currently work in a boring sector? Then how do you fancy moving to music, film and TV instead! The world leader in the provision of software systems to the Music and Entertainment industry requires an OCA-qualified Oracle DBA to be based in London and help their clients in the music, film and TV industry. This is an Oracle DBA role requiring additional experience in PL/SQL.

- A minimum of 3 years of commercial experience as an Oracle DBA in versions 11g or 12c
- Commercial experience in PL/SQL development or optimisation
- Oracle Certified Associate 10g, 11g or 12c
- Experience with the full development lifecycle, from architectural decisions to testing and deployment.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written: We mean can you explain technical issues to non-technical people concisely in layman's terms and not "drown them in detail"?

Please note the above are essential: You require experience in all of the above to be eligible for this role. We'd also like it if you were inquisitive: The more interested you are in development, the better. Ideally, we'd like someone interested in getting hands-on with product development on Oracle with PL/SQL. Will you help the developers make the products better in terms of performance and the user database? Are you interested in working with the developers not just to talk about data structures, but also how to "wring more juice out of Oracle"? If so, that would be great!

The role is specifically about looking after their clients in the music, film and TV industries and you'll get to deal with some very big names in that sphere! This will include creating, maintaining and optimising databases in their development/testing environments, hosting centres and their clients' infrastructure.

You'll also work with clients, business analysts and development team colleagues to create new enhancements and solutions. Additionally we need you to maintain a high standard of PL/SQL code quality across the company, hence the additional requirement for PL/SQL development/optimisation experience.

This is a brand new position due to growth and there is a lot of varied work to accomplish. You will essentially be occupying something of a niche here. In terms of career prospects, they are currently in the process of setting up hosting centres in the US, continental Europe and Britain, so you would help maintain a larger base of databases and work on projects such as data migration and data analysis for large clients.

Finally, you'll be sitting amongst software developers who I know are a fun bunch of people to be around, so a sense of humour would be useful! I hope you're up for some fun banter and laughs with some quirky colleagues!
