We are currently recruiting for an Automotive research and development client who specialise in Powertrain Electrification related products at an advanced stage of development.

We are searching for aSystems Validation Engineer.

The key duties and responsibilities for this role include:

- Responsible for the detailed design of the instrumentation hardware and software (sensors/transducers, electrical signal conditioning, DAQ selection, digital signal processing).
- Design test automation systems for commissioning and/or development testing.
- Responsible for the production of test rig control systems and standalone tools in LabVIEW.
- Review, maintain and document existing/legacy LabVIEW software.
- Responsible for investigating and solving test rig instrumentation related problems.
- Produce documentation of the test rigs systems and LabVIEW software (electrical circuit diagrams, system block diagrams, signal processing specifications, user guides etc.).
- Provide support to the electronics and software HPD groups to help solve signal processing or test related problems.
- Assist with the storage, processing and analysis of test data.

Our client has identified the Key Skills and Experience for this role to include:


- Automotive industry experience
- LabVIEW CLD (certified labVIEW developer)
- Strong analogue and digital signal processing skills.
- Good understanding of electrical noise and appropriate countermeasures.
- Experience using labVIEW for signal processing, data capture, control and user interfaces of test equipment.
- Experience of developing instrumentation systems for test equipment.
- Practical experience using electronics lab equipment (oscilloscopes etc).
- Testing of rotating machines


- Engineering Degree.
- Experience developing instrumentation and control systems for rotating electrical machine dynamometers.
- Experience with torque, rotational position and current transducers
- Knowledge of automotive protocols (CAN, felxray etc.) and tools (CANalyser etc)
- Experience with microphones and accelerometers.
- Experience with NVH related signal processing techniques.
- Experience with CCP calibration tools.
