You will be working for...

A business that have been going since 2006 with year on year growth through IT Support and Managed Services. In 2014, we became a Managed Partner with Microsoft and from over 7k registered SMB Partners (2015), we are in the top 150. Other accreditations are Veeam, VMware, Riverbed, Sophos, etc...

In this role, you will...

- Diagnose and resolve software and hardware issues, across a wide range of systems including Windows and Mac operating systems
- Document all support ticket work against the helpdesk system, and all internal documentation in the relevant libraries. (This will involve the creation of articles on common fixes to enable users to become more self-reliant)
- Take responsibility for support issues, deploying short or long term fixes with the primary aim to be to restore service to the client as quickly as possible; escalating support issues to other support staff where necessary
- Configure and install new hardware equipment both in house and on premise for clients
- Diagnose and resolve networking issues for customers: both over the phone and on site
- Be a team player showing skills and the ability to managing changing priorities
- Exhibit an excellent level of verbal and written communication, dealing with technical and non-technical colleagues and clients
- Perform regular Server maintenance, in house software monitors client systems for issues, to be expected to deal with maintenance tasks accordingly with their criticality
- Be investigating into new software and hardware technologies

Apprenticeships and Vendor qualifications L3

- Advanced Apprenticeship Infrastructure Technician Level 3 (equivalent to A- level educational level), MTA Networking Fundamentals, MTA Mobility and Devices Fundamentals, MTA Cloud Fundamentals, One Microsoft MOC on demanded course

Level 4

New skills including:

- Networking Principles
- Network Systems and Architecture
- Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012
- Technical Security Fundamentals
- Threats and Vulnerabilities

Apprenticeships and Vendor qualifications L4

- Higher Apprenticeships Network Engineer Level 4 (equivalent to first year of degree study), Microsoft Certified Professional - Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012 R2, One Microsoft MOC on demanded course

Programme duration

24 - 28 month IT apprenticeship (with opportunity to step off after 12-15 months if you find that the training/role isn't for you)

Who should apply...

The ideal candidate will have...

- Previous experience working in an IT support role
- Previous experience in a customer facing role
- A working knowledge of Microsoft Windows or Mac Operating Systems
- Strong computer skills and computer literacy
- Experience working with: Windows Desktop Operating Systems (XP, Vista, Win7, Win8, Win10) Windows Server Operating Systems (2003, 2008, 2011, 2012)
- Infrastructure support and networking experience
- VMware or Microsoft Azure experience
- 5 GCSE Grades (C and above) or equivalent, including Maths and English
