You will be working for...

A small, independent publisher of language learning software and apps based in Fulham. The Business has been making language learning software for over 20 years. We were founded in 1991 by Dick Howeson and Andrew Ashe, and have been based in Fulham, London ever since. We started with European languages and then added some more. And then some more. We now offer 150 languages, with more on the way all the time.

In this role, you will be...

- Developing and following test processes to ensure bugs are found, recorded and reported across a range of PC, Mac and Mobile software, on a range of devices
- Collating bug reports from different areas of the business, and ensuring these are recorded and reported to the correct teams
- Working closely with the software developers as new features are being rolled out, and bugs being fixed, to ensure quality and reliability for our customers. You'll be trying to break things! Edge cases, stress testing and performance trials will all be part of your role. We have a wide range of hardware to test on, and keep up to date with the latest devices. You'll be trying to do the unexpected, so that problems can be resolved before shipping

Your training...

Starts with a 12-14 month IT apprenticeship, which consists of training in small groups and work based assessment, covering: Object-oriented programming (OOP), SQL data modelling, Web and systems development, Event-driven programming.

You will gain City & Guilds Level 3 qualifications in IT Systems & Principles and IT Professional Competence, as well as a Microsoft Technology Associate (MTA) in software development fundamentals. This fantastic opportunity can potentially lead to you earning £40k in the IT sector.

Who should apply...

The ideal candidate will have...

- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of how to use Sifter, or similar bug tracking software
- Great writing skills as you will write clear, concise bug reports and reproducibility documents
- Familiarity with programming languages and scripts writing is desirable
- 7 GCSEs (C and above) including Maths and English

Other Important Information...

You will work 37.5hrs per week from Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm
