Java Software Developer up to £90,000 - London

An international technology organisation is creating a new Java engineering team based in London, UK. Searching for smart, energetic and self-disciplined Software Development Engineers to enhance and deliver cutting edge engineering to all varied customers and cultures of the world. You will be able to do this through a combination of partnerships with other technical teams as well as our own innovative new projects.

You will have a chance to be able to work for several of their international teams in the US, Asia and South America - and a new office now the UK.
You will solve technical challenges in large-scale computing, distributed systems, web applications, scalability, security, optimisation, and algorithms, to name just a few areas. You will help to drive future solutions that will impact how they are able to run their retail websites worldwide, whilst also you will collaborate with many teams (both technical and non-technical) across the company.

You will need to have:

Basic Qualifications

*5+ years of industry experience in software development
*To have a passionate belief in, and execution of, best practice engineering
*A strong desire for personal development.
*Understanding of solutions and scaling technologies.
*Understanding of object oriented and service oriented design patterns
*Expertise in Java technologies
*Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent

My client also prefers if you have:

*Experience with distributed (multi-tiered) systems, algorithms, and relational databases
*Experience in an Agile methodology: Kanban, Scrum or similar
*Strong, object-oriented design and coding skills (C/C++ and/or Java, preferably on a UNIX or Linux platform)
*Experience of multi-geography, multi-currency and multi-language or internationalisation technical environments
*Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions
*Able to deal well with ambiguous and undefined problems, and to think abstractly
