My client, a leading Global Bank, is growing their highly rated London-based Credit Risk Analytics team and requires somebody who can demonstrate an expertise in conducting statistical analysis and data mining as well as demonstrating a good understanding of a broader credit business and credit products. One of the key challenges to the role is the lack of available data (compared to a similar function within retail banking) which will require you to propose more unconventional solutions to overcome these natural limitations. You will also be asked to communicate with model users, senior management and regulators in a clear, transparent and effective way. The role therefore requires a broad range of skills, from technical expertise and ability to manipulate large data sets, to clear communication and good writing skills. This role has a broad remit both in terms of geography (stakeholders could be at the highest echelons of management in any global region) and scope of work. You will have multiple, ongoing tasks which require strong prioritisation skills, organisation skills and, most often, a common sense approach as there will be ambiguities that require understanding and interpretation. You will therefore be expected to demonstrate a high level of technical expertise, good communication skills and ability to work in a team. Experience - Good understanding of statistics and familiarity with sophisticated tools for numerical analysis - Strong knowledge of wholesale credit business and wholesale credit products - Working knowledge of PD, LGD and EAD modelling - Knowledge of the banking regulatory landscape including impairment assessment approaches - Relevant working experience in a similar environment in a bank, rating agency, consultancy or advisory firm Skills - University degree and Masters - preferably in a quantitative field - Ability to successfully deliver work within the agreed time scales across multiple projects and stakeholders - Open personality with effective communication skills - Work with colleagues and key stakeholders in an international arena - Organisation and clear delivery, of presentations, trainings, workshops - Ability to manage and successfully deliver projects within the agreed time scale - Ability to liaise with all relevant stakeholders: model owners, credit, business, IT, senior management and regulators. - Open personality with effective communication skills - Work with colleagues, the business and a range of key stakeholders in an international team - Organisation skills, ability to prioritise and able to deliver presentations, training and workshops
