Role

RMI is looking for a DevOps engineer to join our expanding team. This role is best suited for someone who is willing to bring ideas to the table. The role will allow someone to have an impact on the way the development team moves forward.

The Job will be based at RMI's headquarters in London and will involve maintaining and developing the award winning BASE software. The role will be reporting to Head of Software Development Andrew Twitchett.

We are currently in the process of writing new products using a framework (symphony) and embracing an agile approach. The company is moving to cloud based solution but also has legacy hardware.

Responsibilities

- Ensure server uptime both on AWS and Legacy platforms.
- Be able to troubleshoot problems
- In charge of backups of servers and databases
- Work with hosting providers to solve problems.
- Work on automating our release process

Requirements:

- At least 3 years proven DevOps experience
- Expert knowledge of Linux (LAMP, troubleshooting)
- Expert knowledge of cloud based services and command line tools (AWS)
- Knowledge of automated deploying (Jenkins)
- An understanding of relational databases (MySQL) and version control tools
- Use of bug tracking systems(JIRA, Confluence) and modern development methodologies (Agile)
- Degree in Computer Science or related subject/Experience
- Ability to work within a small team
- Self-motivated and happy to work to tight deadlines.

Additional Information:

- Every member of staff is required to follow the company's policies and procedures and work cross-functionally to support all teams with which they have contact in achieving the company's objectives.

- The job role also requires the post holder to perform any duty required by the line manager commensurate with the post, grade and level of responsibility - for which the post holder has the necessary experience, training or skill.

- The company has a standard three month probationary period.

Holiday:

- 24 days per annum + bank holidays (all holidays to be pre-authorised via your line manager in advance of taking time off).

Hours:

- 8 hours a day with core hours 9am-5pm Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm - with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break within 12pm and 2pm

- As per company bonus scheme
