We are currently looking for a Powertrain Systems Project Engineer to work for a major Automotive organisation based in Coventry, West Midlands

Job Title: Powertrain Systems Project Engineer

Rate: From £20.00 to £22.17 per hour Ltd Co.
Hours: 40 per week

The Role:
*Develop a tracking system for roll out weight in Powertrain, from component level upwards
*Deploy, maintain and champion weight across all Powertrain commodities
*Lead regular cross Powertrain brainstorm to enhance the medium and long term weight reduction convergence
*Be a regular and active member of the international conference dedicated to the weight reduction in automotive industry
*Derive an accurate current Powertrain weight status cross-carline for use in working assumptions
*Pursue opportunities to improve status through liaison with the system/component owners
*Track development in the delivery phase and champion the weight status as the single point of contact

Skills Required:
3 Key Skills:
1. Good level of knowledge of Powertrain systems
2. Experience of Programme or Project management, self-motivated, meeting demanding timescales, budget control and cost effective delivery
3. Previous experience in Weight Reduction Processes and Weight Management, preferably in Automotive or Aeronautics Industry

Experience Required:
*Strong understanding of the automotive as a sum of inter-connected system (Powertrain, Chassis, Body, Electrical)
*Strong background in automotive system
*Self-motivated and adaptable to changing demands
*Strong background in forging good working relationships cross-functionally
*Strong ability to persuade and convince ¿ Demonstrable capability to dive deep into the details of an issue and maintain focus to close it out
*Proficient with Windows Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint)

Experience Preferred:
*Passionate about the development of company products
*Experience of a system/commodity delivery
*Technical background in weight saving (e.g. materials, design/manufacturing techniques)
*Relevant Engineering Degree
*Working knowledge of PCS
*Working knowledge of Quality Systems
*Current Driving Licence

Additional Information:
*The role is principally based at Coventry, but meeting support at other Midlands facilities will be required
*Candidates must have a full driving licence
*Applicants MUST have proof of immediate and valid eligibility to work full time in the UK
*40 hours per week with 3.30pm finish on Fridays
