Salary: MPS (London Fringe) + TLR 2b (£4,226)

Contract: 12 month contract (with a view of creating a permanent post)

Hours: Full-time

Start date: September 2013

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Subject Leader for Geography to begin in September 2013 on a 12-month contract with a view to creating a permanent post. We require an outstanding teacher who is looking to take on additional responsibilities in a highly successful Geography department.

The successful candidate will work closely with the subject leader to take us onto the next stage of our development. We boast a popular and successful subject at GCSE and A-Level and seek someone who can join us with experience of teaching all key stages.

Our team is looking to recruit a self motivated, organised individual who will teach with innovative and dynamic practise in the classroom, to continue our success with our exam groups, as well as develop and deliver an inspirational syllabus to KS3. If you share our high expectations of pupils and can contribute to the continuing progress that our students make then we look forward to hearing from you.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

  • Supporting the subject leader in curriculum development
  • Supporting the subject leader with administration for all Key Stages.
  • Supporting the subject leader in monitoring student progress
  • Supporting staff in setting appropriate targets

The Assistant Subject Leader will be accountable for:

  • Leading and managing the agreed areas of responsibility
  • Consistent implementation of department policy

Tring School is popular and over-subscribed, serving the town of Tring and the surrounding villages. It is a mixed Church of England all-ability school, 1500 on roll, over 300 Post-16. Academic attainment is well above average and improving year on year. The school strives to support and encourage individual growth within a caring community.
