Assistant Tax/Accounts Manager
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Manager for the Finance / Accounting Dept of a global shipping company operating within UK, Europe, Middle East and Asia markets, located in the heart of the City in stunning offices. This a fantastic opportunity to work in the European Head Quarters within a newly created role. As the Assistant Manager you will need to deputise for both the Financial Director and the Accounts Manager. They are looking for someone with a good mix of skills - 35% accounting / 35% staff management / 30% Tax - Corporations Tax, Income Tax and VAT. You have MUST experience in all these areas. For this role you must have man-management / supervisory skills to assist in the management of the accounting team. Motivate and ensure the dept is running smoothly in a fast paced, dynamic corporate environment. Someone who will make a difference, who can look at the process and have fresh ideas to improve the accounting in function, with strong Excel skills. In this role, as well as the general accounting A/P-A/R, you will have experience of the Taxation and VAT side of the business, you should have all round accounting experience, gained within an accountancy practice or with a shipping co, or in a corporate environment, with supporting academic accounting qualifications. You will be responsible for these main areas for the various companies within the group, with reporting requirements to the Global Head Office and other associated companies. Skills required: * Qualifications: ACCA / CIMA Qualified, * Computer Experience: MS Excel, MS Word and ideally Sun Accounts. * Experienced in Taxation - Income Tax, Corporation Tax and VAT * An all-rounder with the ability to deal with various and complex accounting tasks within a dynamic and challenging department. * Knowledge of accounting standards either IFRS or UK GAAP Seeking a candidate who is: * Disciplined, organised and able to work within deadline set. * Objective-driven approach to task in hand. * Good communication skills and attention to detail and able to integrate within a team of other experienced employees in order to achieve the dept's various requirements. MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE in the following: - Excellent accounting knowledge gained in the work place - Management / supervision of staff - Sound and proven practical knowledge of tax (Corporation Tax + Income Tax + VAT) Offering a salary up to £35,000 pa + excellent benefits, including bonus, non cont pension and much more.
