About the Role


You will be responsible for the day to day management of the highways resurfacing projects under your control, including on-site client liaison, management of both subcontractors and Contracting’s workforce, control of material orders and compliance with the construction programme, to deliver a defect free scheme on time and to budget


Ensuring that all documentation, i.e., statutory inspection sheets, inspection check sheets, materials received, external plant, internal plant, labour, allocation and day work sheets are completed and where relevant submitted to head office on a routine basis. Obtaining similar information as appropriate from subcontractors

Ensure daily communication with gang foreman so that daily walkthroughs (hazard spots) and inductions are completed at a site level, whilst delivering TBTs (tool box talks) and safety alerts as required


Understand the contract tender requirements, programme and drivers; providing weekly cost value reconciliations, so that ongoing performance can be monitored, issues identified and maximum value maintained


Ensuring all construction personnel on site work to current revisions of technical data e.g. Drawings and specifications and current customer instructions


Ensuring that site records and data are recorded including information for potential claims and variations; and that all additional works are instructed by the client and written instruction is received; and thereby to provide and assist the QS department to formulate and maximise contract valuations


Laying of circa 40kt per annum


Direct responsibility for circa £4m of contracts per year


Direct site management of subcontractors (planing, traffic management, minor civils, sweepers etc.)


About You


Hold a CSCS Site Supervisors card


Must have first-hand experience in managing a carriageway resurfacing crew


Be experienced in planning and programming to ensure the correct material, plant and resources are allocated to the Contract to ensure it is delivered on time and to budget
