Specialist consultancy providing Project and Development Management services to a number of high profile London based Property Investors, Asset Management companies and Developers. The projects are throughout the UK and are principally in the out-of-town retail sector, and also include hotels, industrial and mix-use schemes. The opportunity is for a Development Surveyor/Associate Director Project Manager to work as part of our team, delivering a first class service to our clients.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable development management experience with knowledge in the out-of-town retail sector. The successful candidate will also have an excellent understanding of the development process and outstanding interpersonal skills, together with the ability to deliver Project Management services to high profile clients.

MRICS qualification is not essential for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities/ Duties:

    Undertake day to day delivery of commercial development projects from start to finishManage design teams in the development of design solutions, through to planning stage and client approvalProgramme production, monitoring project costs, fees and development appraisalsAdministration of large, complex building contracts, proactively managing multi-discipline consultant teams and ensuring compliance of contractors/consultants to the contract terms and conditions for efficient delivery of the project under critical time pressuresNegotiating Agreement for Leases. Agreeing project drawings, specifications and programmes with proposed tenants representatives and LandlordsOverseeing the design, tender process, on site construction monitoring and client reportingDeliver projects in line with the agreed client brief, while maintaining focus on time, cost and qualityMonitoring and reporting on the contractors progress against the contract programme
Role Requirements:

    Previous experience working within a consultancy environment in project management on major and complex schemes, ideally with experience and knowledge in the out-of-town retail sectorChartered status is not essential for the roleExcellent interpersonal skillsStrong people management and leadership skills in multi-discipline teamsExperience of sustaining client relationships as a lead consultantAbility to work well under pressure, within time and project cost constraintsPro-active and common sense approach - able to identify areas of need and to manage outputsAbility to work in a small close team environment, together with the ability to work remotely on project sites with limited supervisionA flexible attitude prepared to travel to project sites – full driving licence required
