About the position:Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for a Quantity Surveyor to support the Directors in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, the successful individual will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Directors. About the requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must have:
- A minimum of 3 years post graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably gained whilst working for a remediation / earthworks contractor in the UK (however general civil engineering experience will also be of high interest).
- A degree in Quantity Surveying on similar.
- Working knowledge of all forms of contract - JCT and NEC forms of contract, plus bespoke forms of agreement on occasions.
