Our client, a high profile government organisation are currently seeking to hire a number of Senior Procurement/Category Managers to manage Corporate Services spend across a range of sub-categories including property/FM, HR, professional services and other areas.

Successful candidates will play a key role in maximising value from the commercial contracts, they will be responsible for evolving and influencing the go-to-market strategy, securing approval of the strategy, delivery and execution of the approved strategies and management of expenditure and contracts.

They are looking for high-calibre individuals that have created and negotiated significant contracts in these areas and managed suppliers post contract who have the ability to influence senior stakeholders across complex organisational structures.

You should have the following:

  • Have experience of managing indirect areas of spend especially around services
  • Be skilled at managing a team – able to train, coach and mentor and lead by example
  • Experience of managing complexity – you should be numerate and have excellent analytical skills to assist decision making
  • Excellent interpersonal/influencing and communication skills – able to persuade and lead cross-functional teams
  • Energy and the ability to work at pace – speed and quality of response is important
  • Skilled at partnering and developing suppliers – you should exhibit excellent contract management abilities
  • Ideally you should be MCIPS or equivalent and be of degree calibre
