Project QS with good RC and Groundworks experience for a new position in north-west London. This is a live requirement for a keen QS with good RC sub and super-structural expertise also Groundwork’s knowledge.
£60,000 to £70,000 with package and incentives
The Role will involve running your own schemes. You will be responsible for all Commercial elements from contract award to handover working with the project team to achieve success. The role requires you to have worked for RC frame, Demolition or Groundworks contractors.
Requirements of the Quantity Surveyor include being IT literate, fully versed in Excel and being able to work to tight and demanding deadlines. There will be pressure, with tight deadlines, so you must be able to work in that environment. You will need to be confident in meeting clients and their teams to discuss their requirements. You need to have a strong oral and written command of English.
The Company is a medium sized Civils & Groundworks contractor, intent on growing the business. The current range of work includes demolition, ground remediation, enabling works, drainage, groundworks, RC sub and structural work, builders’ works and substantial temporary works.
Background. You will probably have had extensive experience as a Quantity Surveyor in working for a sub-contractor, with at least 3-4 years working in the Groundworks and RC frames sector. Substantial experience in one or more of the above disciplines is needed to fulfil the role.
Experience inRC structures in the Commercial and Residential sectors, substantial temporary works, demolition and Groundworks is all relevant. Conventional and top down expertise would both be useful; Design and Build contracts; with knowledge of remediation of contaminated sites, underpinning, bulk excavations, drainage are all useful, as is deep basement construction and earth retention schemes.
Reporting directly to the Commercial Director you will be expected to be able to perform under tight deadlines and with the minimum of guidance.
You should live within daily commutable distance of Harrow to fulfil this role.Rewarded with a salary of £60,000 to £70,000 plus a good package, fully negotiable for the right person, you will find that your skills are recognised and appreciated. You will need to have a current driving licence. You must be legally permitted to live and work in the UK to be considered for this job.
