Role: Operations and Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £35,000 p/a (DOE)

- We are currently recruiting for an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Operations and Maintenance Engineer to join our clients friendly team based at their Birmingham plant.
- The role will be planning, scheduling and supervising all maintenance tasks and activities on the Clinical Incinerator and assistance with the facility, such as that operational efficiency is maintained at optimum levels whilst ensuring compliance with company standards and statutory regulations at all times.

Responsibilities:

- Strategic, day to day management and supervision of all Maintenance related activities on the Clinical Incinerator, from Planning of works and Co-Ordination of the Maintenance Department to ensure maximum plant availability.
- Maintain files, logs and drawings for all plant and apparatus using the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Manage and document all maintenance activities, such as calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum while staying within the maintenance budget.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of all direct reports ensuring all duties are performed in manner consistent with environmental, health and safety and company policies
- Supervise and record the maintenance team's daily workload ensuring suitable working pattern cover for holidays and periods of absence etc.
- Responsible for the update and modification to Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), Wiring Diagrams, Panel Drawings, Hydraulic & Pneumatic diagrams, Mechanical Engineering drawings etc.

Skills:

- Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Qualified to at least HNC, or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Detailed knowledge of all aspects of maintenance techniques associated with continuous process control systems.
- Substantial experience gained in a continuous process industry, preferably with knowledge on steam raising and power generation.
- Experience in Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and environmental legislation
- Flexible working attitude that includes some weekend working to provide overall maintenance cover 365 days per year.
- Must be able to be contacted, and attend site, outside of normal hours when required.
