Job Title: New Business Development Manager

Department: Commercial Department

Responsible to: Chief Commercial Officer

Position Description: The Business Development Manager role is responsible for proactively identifying new business opportunities within the target market for Anchor Computer Systems. Ultimately responsible for a contribution to the year-on-year revenue growth of the business through new customer acquisition. The role carries a Sales Revenue Target.

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for creating their own leads from the markets in which Anchor operate.

This revenue growth will be achieved through successful implementations off Anchor Computer Systems products and services.


- Identify sales opportunities: Proactively prospect for new customers and promote Anchor products and services
- Connect: Meet potential customers by growing and maintaining network of customers and partners
- Leadership: Positive attitude and a genuine desire to succeed by working with fellow Sales Team to achieve the business objectives.
- Qualify: Use consultative sale approach to identify opportunities and present Anchor solutions to them in professional presentations.
- Quotes: Be able to provide customers with quotes for Anchor products
- Database Activity: Maintain records and manage marketing opportunities, new accounts and contacts.
- Feedback: Identify trends in sales successes in order to provide feedback from customers/prospects to Anchor Computers operations and system development teams.


- Demonstrate sound business knowledge, alongside technical and industry expertise.
- Display effective interpersonal skills sufficient to build positive, productive, effective and professional working relationships.
- Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales performance metrics.
- Strong negotiation and sales skills.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills especially in the ability to present concepts and articulate business and system value.


- 3 + years of experience in a business development position.
- Strong prospecting and negotiation skills.
- Experience of selling software solutions (financial systems, or other business applications preferred).
- Experience of the Financial Services/Lending industry would be beneficial.
- Performance orientated with a high level of commitment.
- Ability to work independently.
