My client is one of the UK's leading bespoke & specialist joinery manufacturing and installation companies. They provide a full service to their clients within the Commercial & Residential markets from initial consultation through to manufacturing & on-time delivery and project management. With their own in house design team their aim is to provide the best specialist joinery service in the market.

They are now in the market for an experienced Senior Project Manager - Joinery Fit Out but would also consider a Contracts Manager level applicant.

About The Role of Senior Project Manager - Joinery Fit Out

  • Responsible for the complete management of contracts from award to completion.
  • Plan, organise and monitor all aspects of the contract including but not limited to:
    • Material procurement
    • Sub-Contract procurement
    • Health and Safety
    • Quality Control
    • Financial Planning
  • Reports directly to the Operations Director & Managing Director
  • Has a strong functional relationship with Quantity Surveyors, Surveying Manager, Commercial Manager and Health and Safety Advisor
  • Arrange and attend regular contract review meetings with all members of the contract team
  • Have a hands on approach
  • Ability to manage a team of Managers and subcontractors
  • Ensure all monthly internal progress reporting forms are completed in a timely manner
  • Ensure good regular communication is maintained with the client
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with our clients therefore assisting in the continual growth of the company
  • Attend and participate in monthly general business review meetings
  • Attend and assist in tender review meetings prior to submission

Experience & Qualifications

Qualifications

  • CITB SMSTS Health and Safety
  • NVQ Level 6
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and web based project management systems, such as 4 Projects, Priority1 and BIW mobile technologies
  • Relevant CSCS card
  • IT literate with Microsoft Word and Excel

Experience

  • Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
  • Good working knowledge of all construction trades and the Building and Construction industry as a whole
  • Knowledge of materials, methods of work and tools
  • Experience in setting targets and fixing rates within budget
  • Good attention to detail
  • The ability to coach and develop staff
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to plan, organise and monitor progress
  • The ability to work and remain calm under pressure
  • Respectful but assertive manner
  • Good time management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
