New Business Executive (Telesales)

Our client provides award-winning professional services to manage contingent workers, and they are currently seeking a New Business Executive (Telesales) to join their team.

Overall purpose of job:

The role of the New Business Executive is to generate new business opportunities for giant from new & lapsed recruitment agency accounts. This will primarily be through identifying and qualifying opportunities, with the aim of successfully selling giant to agencies in order to land deals with the option of arranging meetings for field representatives. The role will require a strong resilient backbone and great deal of persuasive negotiation skills while portraying an air of confidence.

Purpose of Job

The purpose of the job revolves around gaining new business opportunities in order to hit monthly targets, while generating new business revenues for giant. There will be a full involvement with the rest of the sales team in order to work as a combined sales function.

Skills, experience and education required:

  • Sales experience ideally in a cold call telephone based environment
  • A high level of resilience
  • Good rapport building and networking skills
  • Strong negotiable skills and use of persuasive language
  • Quick learner - knowledge of giant products and their application is key
  • Recruitment agency contact portfolio would be desirable
  • Ability to plan own workload
  • Trustworthy & reliable
  • Skill to research markets and identify potential customers
  • Excellent communicator both internally and externally
  • Ability to work under pressure

Key responsibilities

  • Solely focusing on developing new business accounts for the company and working on dormant accounts in order to regain business.
  • You will develop a detailed calling plan to identify potential businesses to engage with and sell our complete bespoke product range, building a new business pipeline, identifying and closing new customers.
  • You will be able to meet key performance indicators in terms of call volume in order to generate referrals for the company and whenever possible sign preferred supplier agreements with new or existing business prospects ? You will be responsible for organising and conducting sales pitches, product training and industry updates to both new and existing clients over the telephone.
  • You will see yourself as a hunter, who takes pride in discovering new business avenues and building relationships from the ground up.

Knowledge & Experience

  • A key part of the role is identifying and developing key relationships with decision makers, therefore you’ll be an excellent communicator with the ability to build quick rapport and establish credibility.
  • You will have superior levels of resilience and have the ability to persuade at all levels.
  • You will be laser focused on results and success, with a proven track record of generating new business with a genuine passion for completing deals.
  • With sound planning skills, you’ll have proven ability to research, identify and develop clients in your region. You’ll also be organised and resilient, keeping yourself fully conversant with our markets, products, services and competitors.
  • You will see yourself as a hunter, who takes pride in discovering new business avenues and building relationships from the ground up.


  • Identify issues with current operating practice, and suggesting ways to improve operating performance.
  • Develop new processes and practices to advocate a culture of continuous improvement. Training and Development:
  • Actively seek opportunities for internal and external training and development of self

Health and Safety:

  • Ensure no activity is undertaken which could cause a danger to others.
  • Identify potential risks and advise these to the Employee Support Manager in order to eliminate the potential danger
  • Adheres to and promotes the Company’s practices and policies, contributes to creating a secure, safe and healthy environment


  • Ensure that company resources (e.g. paper, energy) are conserved and re-cycled where appropriate.
  • Where possible, highlight new methods of conserving the company’s resources.
