Key Responsibilities
To support the Conduct and Regulatory Risk Advice team in delivering expert advice and guidance to key stakeholders within the Bank. To , provide subject matter expertise and pragmatic independent guidance on FCA Handbook and changing regulations, resulting in an effective second line of defence to continue supporting a robust Risk Management Framework. Provide subject matter expertise regarding Regulatory Compliance and Conduct Risk to support regulatory change initiatives, and product/ process changes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required:

  • Subject matter expert in regulatory requirements applicable to the financial services sector specifically retail and commercial banking - including FCA Handbook and other relevant regulations Examples include, BCOBS, ICOBS, MCOB, CONC, DISP, PSR, SYSC.,.

  • Familiarisation with PRA rules preferable but not essential.

  • Experience of 2 to 5 years in a compliance role providing advice and challenge to the Financial Sector for the relevant Handbooks and rules.

  • Understanding of conduct risk and its applicability to retail banking and its customers

  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills

  • Proven track record in the ability to manage regulatory and conduct risk, balancing good customer outcomes with commercial consideration

  • Positive behavioural style with the ability to be demanding when appropriate

  • Experience of providing timely and insightful advice and recommendations

  • Good understanding and proven experience of practical application of applicable regulatory requirements across all Banking products but with a primary focus on Everyday Banking and Payments

  • Ability to respond positively to change and act as a role model to others.
