The London Taxi Company is the manufacturer of the iconic London Black Cab which is utilised in over 40 major cities worldwide. We have an exciting future ahead our parent company Zhejiang Geely Holding Group are investing £325m to manufacture a brand new range extended zero emission capable electric hybrid taxi which will be built in a brand new facility at Ansty Business Park, Coventry. The facility is the size of 8 football pitches and incorporates the latest construction and environmental technologies!

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SALES MANAGER 

Department – Commercial – Corporate Sales

Reporting to – Head of Corporate Sales

Location - The Ansty Business Park, Coventry

Salary - £50,000 to £60,000 p.a. plus £500 per month car allowance and private medical insurance

Given our ambitious and exciting growth plans for the future we are looking for a Commercial Vehicle Sales Manager to proactively develop and prosecute the Taxi and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) sales with major taxi/fleet customers in the UK and internationally. The individual will also develop strong relationships with The London Taxi Company (LTC) key dealer partners in order to maximise sales across UK regions and Europe and key leasing companies and ensure strong Taxi and Light Commercial Vehicle residual values by assisting in the management of the relationship with the industry guides.

The successful candidate will need to develop brand new relationships and to prioritise and assess the opportunities, scale and timing. The Commercial Vehicle Sales Manager will be both customer and target focused, with the ability to deliver results in line with LTC’s profitability expectations against volume targets.

The role responsibilities

Prepare for the successful introduction of the new plug-in range extended Taxi and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) through the development of the corporate marketIdentify and seek out new prospects, formulate account relationships, maintain lasting sales penetration across specific commercial vehicle sectors on an account by account basis. Ending in multiple profitable sales volumes – compliant to all Brand principlesMaximise volume sales, protect brand principles and respond proactively to all sales opportunities in a professional mannerControl advanced sales negotiations to positive conclusion, administrate and develop sales opportunities across key markets and key target accounts/customersProactively manage to completion and submission any Taxi and LCV customer tenders received by LTC, liaising with all necessary departments to ensure a quality response in line with Brand valuesRecord sales activity and prospecting data to an acceptable auditable processMaintain and achieve a strict diary/appointment ratio on a day to day basisAdopt, understand, evaluate and utilise wider automotive organisations/reports to position our products and services ahead of our competitors e.g. SMMT, Insight, CAP and equivalents across Europe (in conjunction with LTC partners in market)Track and identify key conditions/market opportunities aligned to our product offer whilst implementing marketing initiatives that deliver and maximise growth and product exposure to all relevant industry sectorsComplete appropriate sales reports – as required by Line Manager/Management TeamsLead meetings, design and present at senior level as well as attending/co-ordinating events to position products and services. Ensuring participation from targeted customers/prospectsSupport the preparation of the strategic corporate sales development for Taxi and LCV in European cities with:Analysis of city legislation and how the Taxi and/or LCV can exploit these quicklyAssist in the research of markets and the prioritisation of market developmentBuild strong relationships with major Taxi and LCV fleets in the UK and internationallyBuild strong relationships with LTC’s distribution and maintenance Partners across EuropeBuild strong relationships with the major fleet fundersEnsure the maintenance of class leading residual values by building strong relationships with RV guides across EuropeEnsure that Taxi and LCV sales forecasts are accurate and achievableEnsure that market intelligence on legislation, market actions and competitor activity is fed back to the Head of Corporate Sales to enable specification, upgrades and new derivatives to be considered to maximise sales opportunitiesThe person

The role reports to the Head of Corporate Sales and will have no direct reports, but an extensive matrix of colleagues who will support as part of the team.

Primary Relationships and Interactions

The role will require the successful individual to lead relationships with major Taxi and LCV fleets across the UK and Europe and with LCV contacts at major leasing and daily rental companies.
